Due to the cannabis legalization or the marijuana legalization happening in a few countries, the cannabis industry is gaining traction due to the therapeutic oil. CBD products are being used in a wide range of industries from fitness, beauty, and the medical industry.
Around the United States, there are different state laws regarding the cannabis plant. So from state to state, the laws change. Some states have legalized medical cannabis (medical marijuana) while others have legalized both cannabis use and medical cannabis. While in other states the cannabis plant still remains totally illegally and prosecution will occur if you try poses, purchase, sell or have any interaction with the drug.
Technically, the answer here is no. CBD is one out of roughly 200 cannabinoids from the cannabis plant. CBD shows therapeutics effects in treating a range of ailments such as
CBD also doesn’t make the user feel “high”, unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which is the only compound in the plant that has psychoactive effects.
Due to CBD not having any psychoactive effects and studies suggest it can help treat medical conditions with little to no side effects, selling CBD, purchasing and possessing it is legal in places where the cannabis plant is legal depending on the amount of THC in the product.
Once the CBD oil that you have contains less than 0.3 percent THC in its content then CBD is legal. However, if CBD oil contains more than this amount of THC, then it is considered illegal in a state or country where the cannabis plant is illegal.
If you want to grow your own cannabis plant that you want to use for extracting CBD oil from, then it’s important to note that you cannot grow a cannabis plant in a state or country where cannabis is illegal. It would be a sin and very unlawful. However, it is legal to extract CBD from the cannabis plant in locations where it is legal.
It’s also important to note that if you live in a state where cannabis is legal, that growing your own plant takes a lot of work and effort. With the legalization of cannabis in many places, rule and regulations are approaching concerning the quality control and production of the plant.
So cannabis is illegal in your state or country, but you want to have access to CBD oil to help with a medical condition you may be suffering from. Maybe you are fearful of the cannabis plant as it still needs to undergo a range of testings and clinical trials, but still, want to try CBD. Look no further, because there is another, entirely legal way for one to get their hands on CBD. While CBD comes from the cannabis plant, it also comes from the hemp plant (cannabis’ cousin). Hemp is also known as industrial hemp and it has been used for thousands and thousands of years for making clothes, building, medicine and more.
You can grow hemp in your home as it is legal in all 50 states and around the world. Hemp is usually grown for mass production. CBD can also be extracted from hemp and it is very similar to CBD that is derived from the cannabis plant. The only issue with hemp CBD oil is that when it is cheap to buy, it means that it is more than likely cheaply extracted.
This means that when the oil is extracted from the plant, it might not be properly controlled. So consuming this sort of CBD might also lead to consuming parasites and chemicals sprayed on the plant to make them grow faster.
Hemp-derived CBD can be safe though, but it might mean spending more for better quality, which in turn is better for your health. It is legal to extract hemp derived CBD, even in your own home. There are plenty of tutorials online for you to learn the right and wrong ways going about extracting CBD.
